Better agriculture for farmers
Some of the most successful programs in Australia involving innovation and practice change for better agriculture have been initiated by farmers.
Learning from Farmers
Learning From Farmers Inc aims to encourage farmers to adopt sustainable native vegetation management by learning from case study sites across the Murray Catchment. A network of farmers has now been established. The members have demonstrated sound management of native vegetation, and are recognised as experts in this field.

The Birchip Cropping Group (BCP) is a farmer-driven agricultural organisation operating as a not-for-profit incorporated association. The BCP conducts applied research and extension on cropping.
The BCG distributes and promotes information on farming systems and has provided a manual of trial results to 6000 farmers in four states. The BCG has 500 farm business members and trial sites at several locations. The members direct the focus of all trial and extension activities through a Trials Subcommittee consisting of farmers, technical and industry representatives.
